課程概述 |
一、課程簡介:
本課程將由史學與比較文化論之角度出發,兼及國際關係,以明治維新為起點,研究日本現代化(modernization)之重要歷程,並掌握其間社會變遷(social change)之脈絡及其文化、意識形態領域之轉變過程與結構內容,並從中探究日本的亞洲觀、中國認知圖像之改變,與中日關係之易位,進而了解日本在東亞區域的角色與定位,歡迎日研所與其他對日本研究有興趣之研究生選修。

第一單元:古代日本:吸收中國文明
第二單元:封建時代的日本:同中國模式的偏離
第三單元:德川幕府時代的日本:中央集權的封建國家
第四單元:近代日本對西方的反應
第五單元:明治維新的日本近代化
第六單元:近代日本的亞洲觀
第七單元:中日間的相互認識
第八單元:十九世紀末日本的台灣論述
第九單元:一場小型的明治維新:日本對台灣的殖民統治及其影響
第十單元:戰後的東亞格局與日本的角色
三、授課方式:
師生就選定的文本或論文進行研讀,並撰寫摘要報告,於課堂上發表討論。

Course Objectives:
From historical and comparative cultural viewpoints, this course is aimed at examining important issues in Japan’s modernization starting from the Meiji Reformation. The social change and the structural transformations in Japanese culture and ideology will be investigated. This is to explore Japan’s perceptions toward Asia, the change of Chinese cognition, and the shifted positions in Sino-Japan relations; furthermore, Japan’s roles in the East Asia region will be looked into.

The Post-War State of Affairs in East Asia and Japan’s Role
Requirement:
Assigned papers/dissertations are expected to be read, and students should finish the written summary reports before class. Students will be asked to present the pre-written summary reports in class.
Grading:
Grade is given with general assessments from classroom participation, in-class presentations, and written papers.
